Lieutenant Commander Liam Christian Farreira

Commanding Officer of the Royal Westartican Military Academy

Liam Christian Ferreira currently serves as the Count of Konter and the newly appointed Commander of the Westarctican Military Academy. A British–South African national, he has spent much of his adult life immersed in the worlds of the sea, service, and study. Beginning professional yacht delivery at the age of 19, he has logged more than 25,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic and Southern Ocean, giving him a lived connection to Antarctica and maritime operations rather than a purely theoretical one.

On the military front, Ferreira trained in South Africa before joining Exeter UOTC and later attending Sandhurst (2021–2022) for formal officer training. Although he did not commission, the experience profoundly shaped his views on leadership and service. He has also supported UK-based military operations as a volunteer, reinforcing his belief in the importance of duty beyond the battlefield.

Academically, Ferreira holds a Master’s degree in International Finance and has developed projects in the blockchain and charity sectors, focusing on water access and transparency — initiatives that align closely with Westarctica’s mission. He has contributed ideas for the development of the Coast Guard and other institutional structures, reflecting his commitment to strengthening Westarctica’s governance.

Ferreira is deeply invested in Westarctica’s long-term vision and is committed to building the institutions and systems necessary to advance its territorial claim  whether in 2048 or sooner.
